Planting Party

Thanks to The Woodland Trust, we'll be receiving over 400 trees and shrubs as part of an initiative to create more woodland and hedgerows within community spaces, and we've been given an approximate date for delivery. Now begins the planning process, and along the way we'd like to gather a group of volunteers together to help us out. There will be a variety of roles, from planning and preparation, to planting on the day, manning the hot drink table... 

Due to the ongoing wet weather we have pushed back our planting party date to the 29th April - we are hoping that by this time the field will have dried out somewhat and that volunteers will be able to access the field more easily.  We are happy to welcome and support any and all who would like to come down and help us out, including those with children. 

Please be aware that due to the nature of British weather and the surrounding flat land, we can get quite a bit of wind - hence building a shetlerbelt - so it's recommended you bring a variety of warm, windproof and waterproof clothing to avoid getting very wet and chilly. Snacks and drinks will be available on site, however it's worth bringing a picnic if you intend on staying a while.
